The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. Employing the traditional “Lump Sum Contracting” delivery system, Big-D painstakingly examines your completed construction drawings and specifications, and provides you with a single-entry amount (a fancy way of saying “lump sum”) to cover all labor, equipment, materials, services, overhead, and profit for completing your project.
Collaborating with first-rate subcontractors is critical to the success of the Lump Sum Contracting delivery method. Consequently, Big-D has spent more than 50 years forming and preserving robust relationships with subcontractors throughout the Western United States. Subcontractors value our reputation for clearly defining job scope and expectations, establishing win-win environments and delivering on our promises. These relationships ensure lower costs and reduced risks on your project.

LUMP SUM CONTRACTING 
(Design-Bid-Build)

The construction manager works throughout the various phases of a project and cooperates with the project team stakeholder (General Contractor, Architect, Engineers, etc.) in furthering the interests of the owner.
While agency CM is not limited to a certain sized project, agency CM is frequently used effectively on large, complex projects where the owner desires to supplement its in–house staff and expertise.  Big-D has provided this service to many School districts, large complex private projects, and State’s, as we did for the Utah State Correctional Facility a nearly 1 billion dollar project.

Agency Construction 
Management

The “on-call” procurement agreement is a renewable multiple year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for construction using fixed price delivery purchase orders based upon pre-established unit prices or competitively obtained subcontractor proposals, applied adjustment factors and previously established markup rates for overhead and profit.
Big-D has worked with private and public entities on Job Order Contracting throughout the U.S.
